Addy Thome, Reporter, Photographer
Addy Thome is a senior who plans to study political science in college. She enjoys writing poetry and fiction. A national-award winning poet, she enjoys storytelling and using words to invoke emotion. As a journalist, she enjoys taking photos, especially of sporting events. She can most frequently be seen taking photos at basketball games and playing drum set for the pep band.
After school, she frequents the McClean County Law and Justice Center, where she works as an Illinois JusticeCorps intern. There, she provides procedural guidance to pro se court patrons, Efiles court documents, and sits in on litigation. Her long-term project is creating Spanish guides to standardized court forms. These forms must be filed in English, but she hopes these guides can help Spanish-speaking people to better understand what they need to write.
In her spare time, Addy enjoys rock climbing at The Proving Ground bouldering gym, playing various instruments, and playing video games.
