Emily Gross (she/her) is a senior at University High School.  She plans to study the visual arts in college next year in hopes of becoming a graphic designer or art therapist. Emily is a two sport varsity athlete who plays school and club volleyball and does school track and field. Outside of her athletics, she loves spending time with her friends and family, playing sports like pickleball, and doing art. 

Emily is taking journalism for the first time this year! So far, she loves the class, being able to work with her classmates and experience different writing styles. Photography is her favorite part of being a journalist. Although she finds photography challenging, she’s very interested to learn something new while improving  her camera skills, as the year goes on. Her continuous interest in photography, even before the class, comes from being an athlete. Seeing professionally taken photos of herself and her teammates lets her see a  part of the story that others may not see, so she appreciated the amazing opportunity to capture those moments and events herself.
