This week, The Clarionette returns to the Artist of the Week by interviewing Ben Kresl. Enticed with drawing and painting from a young age, Kresl, now a senior, has been doing art for most of his life. Drawing inspiration from French artists such as Roger Broders with his travel posters, Kresl has been able to create many unique pieces throughout his time at U-High. While familiar with digital media, Kresl prefers to use a simple charcoal pencil when creating his art. “It feels kind of selfish, but I like to be able to say that I created something from scratch and truly call it my own. Being able to reach a final product when it comes to art is both really satisfying and provides me with a sense of ownership that I believe is hard to find anywhere else,” Kresl said.
